20th Century Fox announced an upcoming cyberpunk movie based on a manga series "Battle Angel Alita" by Yukito Kishiro back in 1990. The film's producers James Cameron and Jon Landau were enticed by Yukito Kishiro's work, and that idea came up with the development of this upcoming film. The film had begun their shooting in Austin, Texas on October 17, 2016, up to February 9, 2017. The film features "Motorball" a futuristic skating game with gladiator twist in it so the competitors can kill each other to win.

  • Eiza Gonzalez Nyssianna, a cyborg warrior also tasked to track down and kill Alita.
  • Lana Condor as Koyomi, a young photographer appeared in the manga.
